Short and Sweet: Maple City Trail - 2 km / 1.2 miles (Approximately 30 minutes)

Here's a delightful appetizer for those stretching their walking legs! We'll be hitting the quaint Maple City Trail. It's a lovely baseball hat-friendly amble along the St. Lawrence River. The big reveal of this walk is the gorgeous Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge—tots adorbs, right? Despite its urban setting, you'll still spot a few gnarly trees and birds.

Just Right: Ogdensburg Greenbelt - 7 km / 4.4 miles (Approximately 1.5 hours)

Ready for round two? Our middle-ground route traverses the scenic Ogdensburg Greenbelt. This gently rolling stroll takes in the immaculately manicured Dobisky Visitor’s Center, a spirited jaunt through Morrisette Park (wait till you see those flower beds!), and the captivating Lakeview Park War Veterans Monument. It's a reel of Kodak moments, if you know what I mean.

Longer Leisurely: Van Rensselaer Hike - 16 km / 10 miles (Approximately 3.5 - 4 hours)

Lacing up those walking boots. Our longest route, the grand Van Rensselaer Hike, circles around Ogdensburg, taking in the rustic Van Rensselaer Point, Remington Museum (you’ll be amazed by those sculptures), and Ford Family Mausoleum (sounds creepy, but it's oh-so-serene). Spoiler alert! You might even see a red squirrel or two. We'll be rounding up the walk at Lighthouse Point. The name sounds delightful, doesn't it? It just invites you in like a cozy living room after a long winter day. A great way to unwind and prove to yourself that the journey is indeed the destination!

Remember folks, these are estimated times - don't be afraid to take your time to smell the roses, snap a pic, or sit for a while on a welcoming park bench. Ogdensburg is bursting with charm, and the only perfect way to dive deep into its character is on foot. So tie those laces and get stepping!

Hey, I’m Evan! Even though I’ve been bitten by a piranha, left stranded in the Sahara when my camel ditched me, and even spent a night in a Bhutanese jail over a supposedly stolen fruit (I swear I didn’t take it!), I still love traveling so much I don’t think I’ll ever stop. With over 130 countries under my belt, I’m always on the lookout for the next wild adventure… hopefully with fewer bites, camel betrayals, and misunderstandings over fruit!
